The National Weather Service Satellite Office is a cooperative endeavor between the Department of Geosciences at San Francisco State University and the National Weather Service Forecast Office Monterey.

The center point of the facility is the Meteorology program's Weather Graphics and Simulation Lab, which consists of 12 laptop workstations and overhead projection system, appropriate for weather briefings, seminars, and inquiry-based and problem-based learning.
