How Does Energy Get From Place To Place?

RADIATION--the process by which energy is transmitted without the involvement of a physical  substance.

CONDUCTION--the process by which energy is transmitted by point-to-point contact of neighboring molecules.

CONVECTION--the process by which energy is transmitted when groups of molecules of differing temperatures (and densities) are transported from place to place.

What Processes Affect Energy As It Moves From Place To Place?

ABSORPTION--the process by which electromagnetic radiation is "taken in" by molecules and converted to internal energy.

SCATTERING--the process by which electromagnetic radiation is intercepted and sent unaltered in random directions.

REFLECTION--the process by which electromagnetic radiation is intercepted and sent more or less directly back to space.
