Rotating storm near Jal, New Mexico. Note rain-free base, curved flanking line. The storm also had lower-midlevel inflow spirals.

Dust swirl under rain-free base. This briefly became conical, pointing upwards. The storm weakened after this point.

Second day out. Short wave weakly evident over Arizona expected into West Texas late in the day. Weak cold advection expected to accompany the wave, along with abundant moisture moving upslope in west Texas into southeast New Mexico. Drove to Tucumcari and then south to Hobbs to find this storm. Speed shear was weak and directional shear chaotic, yet this rotating storm developed late in the day.

Pattern looks similar for tomorow.
