The
American Meteorological Society, the official governing body of meteorologists
in the U.S., has established a mechanism to evaluate meteorologist's competence
in the field of meteorology through the certified consulting meteorologist
certification. The process is
intended to maintain high professional standards within the field of
meteorology for individuals planning to provide knowledge in different aspects
of meteorology related to
employers concerns.
This
examination/process sets the standards for recruiting meteorologists in the
competitive job market from company contractors, agencies, and citizens seeking
advice and provides professional recognition to those who have satisfactorily
demonstrated advanced expertise in the field of meteorology.
As
CCM, the probabilities to be employed by contractors/agencies seeking
meteorological advise in related matters are increasingly enormous putting you
ahead of the game. CCM provides
evidence that I am competent enough to successfully represent my contractors
who most of the time lack the understanding and knowledge of meteorology.
Aside
from many employment opportunities, CCM provides a sense of achievement and
success for oneself. It brings out
an opportunity to pursue higher educational goals beyond educational
institutions and promotes my skills to the people that eventually will benefit
my professional career as meteorologist.
Above
all, becoming a certified consulting meteorologist opens up a door to
recognition from the community as well as from peers who are constantly
demanding the most out my
education.
